The company headquartered in Germany was one of the first companies involved with Fieldbus technologies in the late 1980's. KEPware was formed in 1994 by Corson Ellis. As owner of the flow, instrumentation, and PLC peripheral company KEP (Kessler Ellis Products), Mr. Ellis felt that the timing was right to embark upon a software development branch as part of the overall corporate structure and thus KEPware was born.
KEPware's initial goal was to develop a low cost alternative to HMI (Human Machine Interface) packages such as Wonderware and Intellution. This was KEPware's primary product goal until December 1996. We began the development of our OPC and DDE server product in early 1996.
