of OLE and OPC (for example, acquired via the introductory
seminar) and would like to become more familiar with
the possibilities and conditions for applying OPC technology,
then this seminar will provide in-depth coverage beyond
that of the introductory level.
Objective of the
seminar:
The OPC specification
will be presented to you in detail. In addition, you
will be introduced to the development of OPC Servers
and OPC Clients. By means of implemented OPC Clients
and OPC Servers, concrete statements can be made regarding
the efficiency of OPC.
In an exercise,
you will have the opportunity to gather practical experience
in dealing with the new technology. The interaction
between OPC and Distributed COM (DCOM) is subject of
this exercise.
